As independent bodies of the federal states, the Austrian Ombuds Offices for Environmental Protection (Umweltanwaltschaften Österreichs) have the task of maintaining environmental protection and improving the situation of the environment. They also serve as contact points for individuals who wish to take action against environmental problems.
